A bench warrant stays active until the subject appears before the court, a judge recalls it, or the person is arrested and arraigned. This applies to all types. Failure to appear warrants, child support bench warrants, probation violation warrants, and show cause hearing warrants all stay on the books. Once issued, the warrant goes into LEIN, which every Michigan law enforcement officer can access. Any traffic stop can lead to an arrest on a Macomb County bench warrant.
